Original WW II Russian Soviet NKVD Border Guards Budynovka

  

This is an original WW2 NKVD border guards Budynovka. Olive colored body with a green star outlined in raspberry probably indicating a special unit of the border guards or a special rank or position. Cloth covered buttons and older style so maybe preWW2.

Very good condition for a Budy this old. Budys were adopted after WW1. They covered the ears and neck but were difficult to wear under WW2 steel helmets so were discontinued. A nice bit of history.
