Soviet Russian Order Medal for Combat Service COLD WAR Documented Group 1974

  

Soviet Russian USSR Cold War documented medal group consisting of a Medal for Combat Service (or Medal for Combat Merit) with document awarded 21. 1974 and Veteran of the Armed Forces medal with document awarded in 1984.

The awards belonged to Major Nikolai Pidust. Per a notation on the Armed Forces Veteran document, at time of awarding for that medal (1984) Pidust was serving as Deputy Chief of the Political Department for the Military Commissariat of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The reason for awarding of the Combat Service Medal is unknown. In 1974, it can only be a merit award for some particular service. Condition is outstanding , as seen in the images! I will answer all coherent, respectful inquiries to the best of my ability.
