RUSSIAN NAVY DAGGER, OFFICER'S DAGGER FOR USSR ARMY PARADES in the KREMLIN USSR DAMASCUS STEEL BLADE, "BULAT ZIK", SHEATH with BRASS and LEATHER There is a maker mark "? " stamped on the leather under the top fitting of the scabbard showing the Frigate - Karavella. Maker marked "USSR BULAT ZIK STEEL BLADE" and serial numbered, RARE S/N: 70191 The pommel shows the appropriate Soviet state seal with 18 scrolls representing the number of republics in the USSR. The throat is maker marked "BULAT ZIK" and serial numbered; s/n: 70191.

Nice, medium toned lightly speckled Bakelite grip. There is a maker mark "? " stamped on the leather under the top fitting of the scabbard showing the Frigate - Karavella.

The details of the bas-relief are perfect and extremely crisp; practically all of the original fire gilt finish is present. A superb example all through. The gold retains beautiful luster throughout, is essentially perfect, possible detection of not significant of microscopic contact marks invisible to the naked eye, no flaking, rubbing or any other noticeable wear.

The Dagger retains beautiful luster everywhere. There are a no bumps or scratches especially visible. The suspension device is original and completed.

"1978 - Soviet Army NAVY Military Daggers" with "BULAT ZIK STEEL" maker mark produced prior to the change in regulations. From that point on, daggers such as this one were worn only for special occasion e. Military oath ceremony or honor guard duty. Therefore after 1978 year, very few Soviet Army or Navy officers owned a dagger. Description: Fine quality piece with gold-plated fittings.

Maker marked "BULAT ZIK" and shows serial number "s/n: 70191". The USSR State Emblem on the tang button is of the style correct for the period, showing 18 scrolls representing the number of republics in the Soviet Union (1978). The Bakelite grip is of attractive and uncommon dark shade. Small diamond-shaped quality control marks near the rivets of the scabbard fittings.

The Brilliant Blade DAGGER has only minor in and out wear, and a couple of tiny spots, no oxidation, significant pitting, and notches or any other damage. The scabbard leather is supple, free of significant scuffs or wear, and still has beautiful healthy sheen. The brass parts are very well preserved, without noticeable scratches or nicks. There is minor amount of tarnish to the handle guard and lower fitting of the hilt, but the original gold warmish is still clearly visible; the warmish is very bright on all other brass parts including the pommel.
