Soviet Badge of a Delegate to the 25th Congress of the Communist Party of the USSR, 1976 issue. It measures 34.5 mm tall. Mint mark of the Moscow Mint. The badge is in Very Fine to Excellent condition. There is a small scratch mark to the left of Lenin's bas-relief and minimal rubbing to the enamel, but the badge appears essentially perfect to the unaided eye.

The gilt, silver finish on the Kremlin tower, and details are pristine. The original owner of this badge was undoubtedly a member of the top "inner party" elite. There were reportedly just under 5000 delegates at this congress, so approximate the same number of badges were ever made. By Soviet standards, this is a tiny number! Moreover, for reasons that are not yet clear, the 25th Congress badge is among the hardest to find of the CPSU Delegate series.
