Soviet Russian USSR medal Order of the Red Star. With serial number in the 100-199 thousand range range, awarded in early 1942 to Guards Senior Technical Lieutenant Valentin Dmitrievich Zinovev, an engineer for the 11th Long-Range Bomber Aviation Regiment, 22nd Long-Range Bomber Aviation Division, for servicing 144 bomber flights and fully restoring 5 planes that were damaged in combat, despite challenging conditions. The regiment was armed with DB-3 and TB-3 bombers. Zinovev additionally earned the Order of the Patriotic War 2nd Class and the Medal for the Capture of Budapest, as well as a second Red Sta r for length of service. As seen in the images! Minor wear, but the enamel is free of chips, which is a rarity on early Red Stars worn in the field. The serial number of the award is authentic and matches the serial number shown in the archival documents.
