On February 15, 1943, having gathered 50 Red Army soldiers, he occupied a defensive position on Hill 206.4, in doing so repulsed a German counterattack and held the line until the approach of our main forces. As a result, the enemy left up to a platoon of sub-machine gunners [dead] on the field of battle. His recommendation was upgraded from a Combat Service Medal to an Order of the Red Star by the Commander of the 16th Army. A rare award for ski troops!

Bozhko went on to earn an Order of the Patriotic War 2nd Class at Kursk, an Order of the Patriotic War 1st Class, and a second Red Star - all for combat. Condition is as seen in the images! Some chips to 3 o'clock and 5 o'clock arms.
