SOVIET PILOT GAGARIN SPACE MILITARY WATCH. This is a wristwatch " NAVIGATORS "made at "First Moscow Watch Factory". The First Moscow Watch Factory is first not only by name. Throughout its more than 70-year history, it has been and still is the leader in developing and manufacturing highly accurate watch movements. These movements have been used in the army and aviation, in the navy and even in space technology in other words, anywhere where a high level of accuracy and reliability is essential. The NAVIGATORS, which had been issued to new graduates of the prestigious Orenberg Flight School along with their diplomas since the late 1940s, was a logical choice, due to the high quality of the movement and inherent accuracy of the watch. Gagarin would have been supplied with such a 1st Moscow Watch Factory NAVIGATORS opon graduation from Orenberg as well, but it is doubtful that he would have received the NAVIGATORS he wore into space at that time. These watches were produced specially for russian Air Force officers in very limited quantity(the order of the Ministry of Defence of the USSR, not for mass sale). " NAVIGATORS " were the first wristwatches have visited Cosmos with Yuri Gagarin. Very reliable mechanism - in conditions of weightlessness the watch worked faultlessly!!!

Body diameter(size) - 34mm. Original mechanical manual movement(hand winding) 1955-58y approx. It has New dial, Glow in the dark. The strap is modern New included as GIFT.
